SFIA FeedbackA special web site is now available, to support the SFIA v4 project. SFIA users can submit feedback and comment on proposed changes. You can go to the SFIA Update site from here. Before involving yourself in the consultation, please bear these things in mind. 1. SFIA's policy is to follow industry best practice, not to lead. 2. The framework is intended to describe professional/technical skills. The definitions in SFIA are not:
3. It is expected that an organisation will construct role profiles or job descriptions containing SFIA skills in addition to other information. This other information might include, for example, a requirement for knowledge of the organisation's life cycle management process: this is not considered to be a skill. 4. The ideal feedback consists of a statement of requirement and a proposed solution. The "requirement" might be the need for some clarification, or to plug a perceived gap in the framework. The proposed solution might be some rewording, or a proposed skill definition. But we will better understand your proposed solution if it comes accompanied by a statement of what it is meant to achieve – the requirement.
